Steve has practiced public relations for 30 years both in South Africa and New Zealand as a consultant for corporates in the transportation, oil, mining, pharmaceutical and retail industries. His particular areas of expertise include the scoping and implementation of strategic communications programmes, media relations, issues and crisis management, marketing public relations, and Internet communications involving social media.
After working as a senior consultant for one of New Zealand's largest public relations consultancies, Steve formed Core Communications 12 years ago to provide a more focused and personalised service to clients.
For the past 10 years he has worked closely with Transit New Zealand (now the NZ Transport Agency) implementing communications programmes for many of the major new motorway projects in Auckland.

Carolyn has been with Core since its inception in 1997. While her primary role is overseeing Core's financial affairs, she also manages staff issues and administration, allowing the consultants to get on with the business of exceeding clients' expectations. Carolyn's understanding of Core's clients and their needs, enables her to step in on projects as required.

A BA (Hons) graduate from the Business School at Leeds Metropolitan University, Miriam has worked in public relations consultancies in New Zealand and abroad. She has won various accolades for her work, including a regional Young Practitioner Award from the UK's Institute of Public Relations.
Her public relations experience spans diverse fields including criminal intelligence, children's literature, technology, design, wine and education. She has led various high profile projects in New Zealand, particularly in the transport and government sectors. She also works with consumer and business-to-business clients. Not for profit client work includes the prestigious HRH Princes Trust.
Miriam is a specialist in strategy planning, crisis communications, event management, stakeholder and community relations and consultation. |

Since graduating from the University of Auckland and the Auckland University of Technology, Keelin has worked in public relations consultancies in New Zealand and the UK. She has experience in a broad range of industries including education, small business sector, consumer health and forestry.
She has led various high profile projects in New Zealand, particularly in the transport and government sectors. She has also worked with consumer clients on new product development including several global product launches for luxury brands. Not for profit client work includes the annual Artworks charity arts week and assisting with AUT’s public relations student mentor programme.
Keelin specialises in strategy and communications planning, event management, stakeholder relations and integrated advertising and campaign management. |

A graduate of University College Galway, University College Dublin’s Smurfit Graduate Business School and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, Connell has 10 years marketing and PR experience in Ireland, the UK and Australia.
His diverse range of experience includes offering strategic marketing, media relations and event management advice to private company and government clients in the corporate, consumer, education and healthcare industries. His client work also spans the environment, charity, sport and entertainment sectors.
Connell managed a high profile media relations campaign around the New Zealander of the Year Awards 2010, securing extensive coverage across broadcast, print and online media, in New Zealand and internationally. |

Lucie joined Core Communications in 2005 on a two week contract and never left! Previously she had been in the UK where she completed an honours degree in languages and international business. As part of her studies she attended the Universidad de Deusto Business School in Spain and completed an internship in Cannes, France.
Lucie is an integral member of the team specialising in transport sector public consultation, event management and advertising. She also has an interest in how digital communication and social media is changing the face of conventional marketing and communication practices. |

Leone holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Mass Communications from the University of Canterbury and a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Auckland's University of Technology.
Leone joined Core in 2007 after moving from the Ports of Auckland Ltd internal communications team.
She works on a variety of accounts and campaigns in Auckland and Northland, a highlight for her includes managing an event at dawn held at the tip of the country, Cape Reinga.
Leone's communications experience is broad within the government and transport sectors, including stakeholder and community relations, planning and implementing public awareness and education campaigns and event management. |
